Dr. Kaleigh Acord, violinist, takes a strong interest in connecting with audiences and fostering collaboration with living composers. Her debut album, 21st-Century American Storytellers, comprises six works for unaccompanied violin written 2000-2019. Two of the six featured pieces were written for Kaleigh, and of those two, one was recorded with composer Les Thimmig present in the studio. In July 2025, Kaleigh and cellist Dr. Linda Jennings delivered the world premiere of Nebojsa Macura’s Double Concerto for Violin, Cello, and String Orchestra with a youth orchestra in Changrai, Thailand. An avid chamber musician, her festival appearances include Lake George Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, LunART Festival, Caroga Lake Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Kent/Blossom Music, the Garth Newe Chamber Music Fellowship Program, Lyricafest, and Charles Castleman’s Quartet Program. She has collaborated with Michael Kannen, Timothy Deighton, Rhonda Rider, Allison Wells, and the Hausmann Quartet. Kaleigh joined the faculty at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Music Department in 2024.
