Aimée McAnulty
Argentine-American violist Aimée McAnulty is a bold, expressive performer whose career bridges the worlds of chamber music, orchestral artistry, and music advocacy. Formerly the violist of the nationally recognized Ivalas Quartet, McAnulty performed on major stages including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, where The Strad praised her “impressive solo sound" and described the ensemble’s performance as “playing of tremendous heart and beauty.” Now based in Colorado, she brings her vivid musicianship to several prominent ensembles. She is a core member of the Boulder Philharmonic and Colorado Springs Philharmonic, performs regularly with the innovative chamber group Sphere Ensemble, and serves as Assistant Principal Viola of the Cheyenne Symphony. A graduate of the University of Michigan, McAnulty studied with Yizhak Schotten and remains a dedicated advocate for expanding representation in classical music. Her past work with Ivalas championed composers such as Jessie Montgomery, Carlos Simon, and George Walker—continuing a mission she now carries into her orchestral and solo work with conviction and grace.
